Each month, the training class boys take us through some hot
topics of the day and puts us on the spot to come up with
how we would have handled various situations. The instructors
take the lead and a debate that any power-sharing nation would
be proud of ensues. Much to contrary belief we do come up
with a consensus and we will share our thoughts with you via
this page. See if you agree.
This month we talk about simulation The two
clips we have chosen for www.sfar-glasgow.co.uk highlight
how positioning during play a big part in decision making
as a referee.
In a minute, click the images above to view the first of
two clips that were discussed but before you watch it, keep
this in mind - On first viewing would you
have given a penalty kick?
Now watch the reverse angle clip and see how much of a difference
positioning can make.
Please note that you will need Microsoft's Media Player
to view the footage. You can download the latest version here.
Watch
clip 1 and ask yourself was it a penalty kick?
Watch
it again. This time ask yourself was there any
contact?
Now watch clip 1
- reverse angle This time ask yourself is this now part
of our game?
Watch
clip 2 and ask yourself was it a penalty kick?
Watch
it again. This time ask yourself was there any
contact?
Now watch clip
2- reverse angle This time ask yourself is this now part
of our game?
